Chemistry

Chemistry is a program that combines pure chemistry and applied chemistry together to create tangible research that can be built upon commercially and is offered through the knowledge and competence of instructors in a variety of areas with domestic and international cooperation and regular student and personnel exchange projects. Research works by this program are accepted nationally and internationally.

Program Description

Learners will learn about the science of chemistry and applied chemistry as they study and build understanding in various natural processes in their surroundings, all the while participating in the development of technologies which will come to play important roles in the future such as in the development of medicines, synthesized materials and important machinery in new sciences such as in nanotechnology. Works can be turned into research that can be commercially built upon, and education is provided by qualified instructors in the accompaniment of modern scientific instruments in an appropriate learning atmosphere. Moreover, personnel and organization collaborations take place on the national and international level, and the numerous research works produced by this program are recognized nationally and internationally.

Internships or Cooperative Education

Internships are included as a requirement in the program. Students will receive opportunities for internships at leading organizations in the public and private sectors within the country that are part of the network of the Faculty of Science and Technology (internship takes place during the summer semester of the third year).

Further Studies

Graduates can further studies in a Master of Science program or doctorate of science program in chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Thammasat University or other leading academic institutions in the country or abroad. Furthermore, graduates can seek advice regarding master-level and doctorate-level education from the program instructor while still studying on the bachelor level.
