Computer science (Computer and information science)

Meeting market demands, students, in particular, will get to learn about the entire process software development and application development, design and maintenance of information systems and networks, including strong foundations in computer science for building upon in AI systems or data science, software and computer graphics development, etc. Furthermore, new lines of work are opening up for Gen Z people such as in UI/UX, which requires both creativity and marketing skills in designing and creating technology media based on what followers want. All such occupations are in high demand in every industry.

Program Description

The computer science program with major in “computer and information science” provides learning about the foundations of computer science broadly and richly covering automata theories, computer architecture, programming languages, operating systems and networks in order to give learners a strong foundation for expansion in specialized fields such as artificial intelligence, computer and network systems, software processes and development, and computer graphics design.

Furthermore, learners have the freedom to choose their specialized subjects based on their skills or interest to become their minor subjects such as data communication and computer network management, software engineering and management, and data science. All of the learning contents cover skills that every large organization requires and cover creation of research related to advanced computer technologies, so learners who plan to pursue advanced studies can also choose this program.

Internships or Cooperative Education

For every major, students will be able to receive internships or cooperative education at leading organizations part of the network of the Faculty of Science and Technology (cooperative education commences in the summer semester of the third year and concludes at the end of the first semester of the fourth year).

Further Studies

Further studies are possible in a Master of Science program in computer science at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Thammasat University or other leading academic institutions in the country or abroad.
