  • ผู้สมัครต้องเป็นผู้สำเร็จการศึกษาชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 สายสามัญ กลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้วิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ ฟิสิกส์ เคมี ชีวะ ต้องเรียนรายวิชาพื้นฐานและรายวิชาเพิ่มเติม รวมกันไม่น้อยกว่า 22 หน่วยกิต กลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้คณิตศาสตร์ต้องเรียนรายวิชาพื้นฐานและรายวิชาเพิ่มเติม รวมกันไม่น้อยกว่า 12 หน่วยกิต

Food Sci TU

This program integrates basic practical and theoretical science knowledge with food technologies. Learning experience is enhanced through work studies and internships in work agencies or industrial factories related to food. This is to provide students with direct experience in their fields along with knowledge and experience on how to make use of technologies in their professional occupations.

Program Description

The Food Science and Technology program offers a variety of subjects to prepare students with actual understanding and work skills and the ability to broadly expand upon research.

  1. Fundamentals in science and mathematics.
  2. Required department subjects are food processing, food microbiology, food chemistry, food engineering, food laws and standards, logistics, basic food packaging and food marketing.
  3. Required subjects outside the department include science and technology entrepreneurship.
  4. Elective subjects include production technologies such as production technologies of milk, fishery, meat, fruit and vegetable, health, fermented, baked, Thai dessert products; food product development and essential skills for starting a food business.

5. Students will have opportunities to receive 300 hours of work training in the industrial sector either in the country or abroad to build their work experience.

Graduates of the Food Science and Technology program have scientific knowledge and thinking processes along with a foundation in business which enable them to apply their knowledge in developing innovations and commercialization. Graduates will have learned scientific theories and food technologies and trained until they are skilled and ready to work in industrial factories, pursue further studies or start their own businesses.

Internships or Cooperative Education

Internships will take place at private or public organizations in food or research institutes abroad during the summer semester of the third year and will last 1.5-2 months.

Further Studies

Further studies are possible in a Master of Science program in computer science at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Thammasat University or other leading academic institutions domestically and abroad.

Target Occupations After Graduation

For public-sector work, this includes the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Livestock Development,  dairy cooperatives, Rice Department, Institute of Food Research and Product Development, etc. For private-sector work, this includes work in the food industry such as in production, product development, packaging, quality control, marketing, procurement, etc., and work in private businesses related to food technologies. Further studies are also possible on the master level in food engineering science and technology, industrial engineering and management.
